The No. 15 pick by the Sixers in the 2012 draft showed us last season how good he could be. At 20 years old, the guy is still a work in-progress but boy was it fun to watch. Playing in 76 games, starting 59 and averaged for the Magic, 8.2 points and 4.4 rebounds, Harkless proved his worth the entire season. Not too shabby for a guy who wasn’t getting much love from the “The City of Brotherly Love“.
But this year, coach Vaughn has seemingly forgotten about stellar small forward. Is it because of Harkless play or attitude… or is it just part of the bigger picture?
“The first thing I talked about to these guys at the beginning of the year is that this year is different,” Vaughn said. “Because you played last year, doesn’t at all mean you’re going to play this year. Because you started, because you had minutes …” Coach Vaughn told the Orlando Sentinel.
Harkless is only 20 years old and the Magic are a team filled with young talent looking to etch out their own place. Will Harkless be apart of the Orlando Magic’s long term plans? What are your thoughts?
